I am sorry all. I have not worked on my couch in a while! I have been super busy and with the holidays coming up, I am even busier! I will try to get some work on it when I can. And I will try to get those long awaited pictures I talked about ages ago.. When I started to the last time, my son vomitted all over the blanket.. Ewwww.. so I did not get to get them then.

Finished one piece
I have one little strip done. Ive been meaning to update, but other `life` things have gotten in the way :) I am about 1/4 of the way done with the second strip. These two are the ones that are going to go around the cushions. And as always... Pictures will be here soon....

Making progress
I got a few WIPs done and off of my hook, so I had a bit more time to work on my couch. I am still, sadly, on the same strip that I was originally on, but it is making progress! It is actually close to done. I found a blanket I had made for my son when he was still in the NICU. It is white and also done how the couch will be done. It fits just over the cushion so I am going to stretch it out and place the strip I have been working on around the edge of it and take a few to see how it will look when it turns out! The blanket just laying on the couch looked good! I really cant wait now!
And did I mention that the damn dog RIPPED my sew job up!!!!!!!!! *angry* And here I thought with that yarn holding it together, sewed over a few times that it would stay at least a bit. WRONG!

Do you see what I see?
.:to the tune of Blues Clues:.
We are gonna Crochet a Couch
We are gonna Crochet a Couch
We are gonna Crochet a Couch
Cos we are really dumb!
Ive got started on the new plans. Ive begun with a cushin strip. It is coming along faster than I thought. With this rate Ill be done by Easter! Ive gone some of the pictures up And who would have thought I did not get a picture of the whole couch Ugh! So I took one today. It will be a few days before I can get it up tho. You will have to excuse the little one sleeping on it. I did not want to wake him. Anyway, with these pics, as little as it shows, you can tell this couch needs some serious help!

Getting ready
I have been busy gathering all of the yarn that I am going to use for this project. I am also in search of `the perfect fabric` I want to put a lining under the crochet part. It is also going to be a simple white. This way when the crochet is taken off to wash, it wont look as ugly :) I do have a few other things, non couch related on my hook that need tending to once a while, but I will try to make this my number one project!
Since I cant get the pictures on my computer Im having BIL do it. If he cant do it, then Ill use my other cam. The quality is not going to be good at all, but it will at least give an idea of how things will look once completed.

Change of plans..
This is a reply I made to a post on Crochetville I just copied it here so I do not have to re-write everything. Hopefully I can get my camera working good enough to get a picture up, otherwise I might have one somewhere on my computer, but it will have my kiddo in it.
After stiching around (or half around) one of the edges of the cushions to stich into I have realized this is going to be hard! The fabric on the cushins are HARD to get the needle into. My thumb is already killing me. I might pull that out and do what you are saying here. Making three pieces for each cushion One for the top, one for the bottom and one to go around it and hold them together. I am going to do one peice for the back of the couch. This is going to go where your back is at when sitting and also on the back of the couch itself. I am going to make a little ruffle-ish strip to go along the bottom of the couch. Two pieces for the sides of the couch and two pieces to go onto those pieces for the arms. Two pieces to go on the front of it where the arms are. And two pieces to go on the back of the arm. This might sound really confusing, but once I get the pictures of the couch it will make a lot more sense. So, basically instead of crocheting into the couch, I am just making one huge slipcover. But the slip cover will not go over the cushions, they (the cushions) will have their own little thing to go into. If anybody saw on the blog.. I am doing it in white. Yes very gutsy, but I am a major friend of bleach :) And since it will be removable, it will be washable as well.
